CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW / For five years, Derek worked closely with the Creative Director of the NHL franchise, the Vancouver Canucks, as well as with various creative teams, to capture footage for commercials, arena openings, and brand partnership content. His work included capturing live, unscripted game action and arena life, shooting scripted storyboards with a full production team, and filming around the city of Vancouver to tell the Canucks’ brand story.

CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW / Derek took on the challenge of creating national ads for Tourism Saskatchewan, collaborating closely with agencies and clients to craft stories centered on the people and places of the province. The roles of Director and Director of Photography were shared between Derek and Greg Huszar, with both taking on producing responsibilities to bring the boards to life.
Working primarily in exterior locations, their goal was to capture each story with as much authenticity as possible. Saskatchewan is a very real place, and the spots were designed to reflect that sentiment. The Directors’ edits presented here highlight Derek’s creative approach, showcasing his emphasis on authenticity, storytelling, and visual precision.
